St. James Catholic churches one of the oldest churches in Vancouver that's
still holding services. It was built of bricks from the Hidden brick yard
in 1848. St. James was built with the help of Mother Joseph. In 1838, Dr. McLoughlin brought two Catholic priests to
Vancouver to provide spiritual leadership. Today it is one of the oldest
Roman Catholic congregations in Washington.
