Shirley Temple was the most popular child motion- picture star of the 1930's. She was born in Santa Monica, California in 1931. She made her movie debut at the age of three and became a star in the 1934 musical Stand Up and Cheer. Shirley Temple made about 25 movies in the 1930's. She retired in from motion pictures in 1949. She played lots of teenage roles in the 1940's but they weren't as big of hits as when she was younger in other movies. She might still be living. She used to be an ambassador to Czechoslovakia.
