Sound

by Grace, grade 4, age 10

Sound begins with a vibrating object. The waves are carried by the air. The waves travel in all directions. Loudness or softness dosn't have anything to do with the sound wave's speed. Sound is the second fastest thing on earth today. The hotness or coldness of the place that that a noise is made does affect the speed. When it's hot in the room the sound gets higher by 1 foot a second.
