The Interstate Bridge

By Hollie, 4th grade

The Interstate Bridge was completed in 1917. The Interstate Bridge crossed over the Columbia River from Washingtion to Oregon. To get on the bridge they had to pay. Washingtion and Oregon both pitched in to pay for the bridge. There were lots of people who came to hear the speeches and see the first cars to go across. It was the best day everyone had to see the Interstate Bridge open because they didn't have to ride the ferry anymore. Today, there are two bridges. One for cars going to Oregon and the other for cars going to Washington.
