by Mark, grade 4

The two Hidden Houses on 13 th Street in Vancouver were built by Lowell Hidden and his son, Foster. The houses were built in the 1880's from bricks made at the Hidden Brick Company. Mr. Hidden started the brick company in 1871. Some of the buildings made of Hidden brick in Vancouver are: St. James Church, The Providence Academy, and the Clark County Museum. Today the two houses are known as the Hidden House Restaurant and Foster Hidden House.
