In 1889, Gardner Chapel was built. D.W. Gardner donated the bell. By steam boat. The first ministers were reverend Jensehand reverend Flynn. The church got old and fell in disuse and was used to build a baptist. The owner died on july 20, 1900. There was an earthquake on sep. 17, 1890. In the early days, Santa Claus came to Gadener Chapel and gave out lots of candy and nuts. Santa was very important to the kids.
