How Trees Grow

by Andy, grade 4, age 9

As insects move from tree to tree they carry pollen with them. The pollen goes into the pistil and into the overy and fertilizes the seed. Then the wind blows the seed to a place and if the seed gets wet the seed coat gets soggy and allows the embryo to sprout or germinate. If the weather is good it well eventually grow and the pattern starts all over.
