Her parents met in 1878 . Ella's father had came from Switzerland and
her mother came from Missouri, but Ella and her nine brothers and sisters
were all born in Washington. Later in 1916, Ella became a teacher and taught
at the old Lakeshore School and sometimes at other schools in the county.
The old Lakeshore School is still being used. In 1950 , she retired from
teaching. Ella had always been interested in politcs.When still a teacher
she got her dream and became a politician and was named WOMAN of ACHIEVEMENT
in 1963. She served for 20 years as a state representative and also was
honored by Dwight Eisenhower, former Preident, Richard Nixon former Vice
President, and Albert Rossellini, Govermor of Washington.
