Wood Sorrel

by Katie, grade 4

The Wood Sorrel's scientific name is Oxalias Orengena. It is a white flower with red vines in it. The leaves are shaped like a clover. The Wood Sorrel grows at the bottom of a wet forest. It comes out in the day and closes at night. It also folds up in the rain. It takes six minutes to fold up and thirty to flatten back out. You can chew it like gum, but if you chew too much, it can poison you. It is a beautiful flower.
