Salmonberry is a wildflower. Its scientific name is Rubus Spectabilis. It has red or white petals. The salmonberry has star shaped leaves and gets to be four to ten feet tall! It grows on hills in the northwest coast. They bloom in June. The Indians would use this berry to get all the gas out of their tummies after they ate too much salmon. It tastes good. It tastes like a raspberry. This is how salmonberry got it's name. The berry is the same color as salmon.
