This is the Monkshood. It grows in moist sites, mainly east of the Cascade crest. The bees like Monkshood's nectar. A few animals eat the Monkshood but if we eat it is toxic. The scientific name is Aconitum Columbianum. This flower has blue-purple petals and the upper petal makes a hood. Under the hood, there are two more petals.
