Sacajawea

The Lewis and Clark expedition hired Tousaint Charboneau and his wife Sacajawea as intrepreters at Fort Mandan. Not soon after, she was expecting a baby. After Fort Clatsop was built, Clark wrote in his journal, "They imediately all came out and apperd to asume a new life at the sight of this indein women." Not soon after Lewis found a beached whale. Sacajawea said something like, "I have come this far. I want to see this mammal too."
