Fred M. Kettering and Mr. Gray built the first railroad running out of
Vancouver. It was built from Battle Ground to Moulton Falls by Pacific Construction
Company in 1868. One of the earliest problems, was they had was a forest fire which threatened equipment, work,
and even their lives.
