On June 3,1942, Henry J. Kaiser got a contract for 50 Baby-Flat-Tops to be built by his own ship yards. The very first Baby-Flat-Top, named USS Alonzo Bay, was christened by Eleanor Roosevelt. The Casablanca series is different from the others because they were lighter. many people thought that they weren't very good in battle. it shocked a lot of people when they found out that they could move very fast and they could fight of other ships in battle.
