Captain William A. Davis was born in Drytown, California, October 28,1855. He moved to Sacramento in 1860, then came to Vancouver. He spent many days on the river swimming, hunting,and fishing. He went to shcool to learn reading, writing, and arithmatics. On October 31, 1878,
