Astor Column

by Peter, age 9

The Astor Column towers above Astoria on top of Coxcomb Hill. In 1926, descendants of John Jacob Astor built the Astor Column. It stands 125 feet into the sky! It was designed by Electus Litchfield, a New York architect. To get to the top you have to climb up 166 steps.
