by Nataly, grade 3

Peter Skene Ogden lived in Montreal, Canada. Ogden's father's name was Judge Issyc Ogden. He had a good British education. Men from the Northwest would visit his home and tell him tales. He had 8 brothers and sisters. He was the youngest in the family. Ogden was in charge of fur brigades. They suffered terrible hardship and often didn't have enough food to eat. They lived out doors. Peter Ogden became Chief Factor for the Hudson's Bay Company. He traded $400 worth of blankets, shirts, tobacco, guns and ammunition in return for the survivors of the Whitman Massacre.
