Its scientific name is Xerophyllum tenax. Its flower is white and shaped like a saucer. It smells good. The beargrass leaves are dry, narrow and V-shaped. It grows in open forests and clearings in Oregon and Southern Washington in the Cascades. A bear might eat beargrass as part of its spring diet.
