You are most likely to find the Winter Wren in brush piles or thick undergrowth in moist forests. This bird likes to build its nest among the brush and goes to great lengths to keep its nest a secret. Its distinctive markings and colors are finely barred reddish brown all over. The Winter Wren eats insects. To find its food it moves in a darting mouselike manner hunting insects. The bird call is a double call note tick-tick. The scientific name of the Winter wren is Troglodytes troglodytes.
