The California Quail

The scientific name for the California Quail is Callipepla california.

You're most likely to find the California Quail in mixed woodlands, increasing in large city parks, and on outsides of deserts. The California Quail likes to build its nest on the ground. The male's distinctive coloring and markings are the black face outlined in white. It has a bluish chest and white marking on the gray flanks. The California Quail eats seeds. It finds its food by looking on the ground.
