The American Robin

The scientific name for the American Robin is the Turdus Migratorius. you are most likely to find this well know song bird in the 48 Continental United States. The American Robin likes to build its nest in orchard trees or in shrubs around buildings. The color of the adult bird is orange­breasted (head of female is paler than males). The breast of the juvenile is spotted. The American Robin eats insects and earthworms. The American Robin finds its food from seed on lawns, searching for insects, and earthworms.The American Robin's call is song like. It is a series of 6-10 whistled phrases of 3 or 4 notes. It can last 5-20 minutes.
