The American Goldfinch is about 4 1/2 inches tall. The egg is about 4-6 cm long. The egg is bluish white. The American Goldfinch is found in flocks, weedy fields, bushes, roadsides and in seed bearing trees. The American Goldfinch has a black cap wing, tale. The rest of the bird is yellow. It eats nuts, sunflower seeds, and worms. The American Goldfinch's call is high and sweet like per-chik-o-ree.
The scientific name is Carduelis tristis.
